We'll Always Love Molly Ringwald

According to fishwrapper, Molly Ringwald did an interview for Lenny, showing that there are some good things that Lena Dunham has done for this world.

Molly, probably more so than any contemporary young actress, really fit the "America's Sweetheart" label back in the '80s. There are just so many actresses, and thanks to the internet, they're all so visible -- it's harder to pick just one, you know? These days, a role kind of like that gets played thanks to reality television, but ... well, Kylie Jenner is many things, but "America's Sweetheart" she is not.

It's not just that she was in eternal classics like "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty In Pink," though obviously that makes her legacy pretty damn close to eternal. She's just so innately endearing, and fans really gravitate to that.

But, as you can imagine, being the object of everybody's crush isn't all that it's cracked up to be:

"It did feel like the world had a crush on me. Which was a nice feeling. But then if you have any lucidity, or if you are prone to anxiety, which I think I have been my whole life, you always have the feeling that it's going to change, that it's ephemeral and it's not going to last."

We super, super get that.

Especially in the world of celebrities, people can be so very fickle. Anybody else been on social media long enough to witness the rise and fall of Jennifer Lawrence? Oh, her career's still going strong, but she only really excited young people for a few months there.

It's probably worth reading the whole interview, because Molly Ringwald is just darling and we really don't hear that much from her.
