OJB Jezreel dies 3 years after kidney transplant

Popular music producer, Babatunde Okungbowa, popularly known as OJB Jezreel , has died three years after a successful kidney transplant surgery in India. He was said to have died early this morning, June 14, in a Lagos hospital, just one month to his 50th birthday.

A family source claimed that his kidney transplant failed completely since last week.

Bodies of missing schoolboys found in Ebonyi river (Photo)

Ten days after two junior secondary school JSS III students of the Federal Government College, Okposi, in Ohaozara council Area of Ebonyi State, were abducted by unknown persons, their decomposing bodies have been found in a local river in the area.
The pupils, Tochukwu Ene pictured above), and Chukwuemeka Ugwu, were kidnapped on Thursday, May 12th, 2016 around the school.
A family source of one of the deceased who disclosed this to the Nation in Enugu Tuesday , said “their corpses were found floating in a local river on Sunday, May 22nd, 2016”
Our Correspondent learnt that police in Ebonyi, have made some arrest, including some members of staff of FGC, Okposi in connection with the sad incident.
Among those arrested is the traditional ruler of the community who is now facing interrogation at the Police Command headquarters, Abakaliki.
 
The family source added that before the two boys were murdered no attempt was made by the suspected kidnappers to reach the boys’ parents, Barrister and Mrs. Bato Eneh and Mr. and Mrs. Bonny Ugwu, aka Bonjoe, for a ransome request.
The two late students just finished their Junior NECO examinations on the very day they were kidnapped.
Remains of the students were laid to rest Tuesday at their respective hometowns following autopsy carried out by police pathologists to determine the possible causes of their deaths.
However, speculation are rife that some youths of the area, including an unnamed staff of the FGC, Okposi,may have masterminded the dastardly act.

Indonesian popstar dies on stage after being bitten by cobra but kept performing

A popstar carried on performing for 45 minutes despite being bitten by a cobra, before collapsing and dying on stage.
 Irma Bule, 29, was attacked mid-performance in the village of Karawang, West Java, by the venomous snake,Mailonline reports.
But when the snake bit her thigh, it injected venom into her bloodstream until a snake handler pulled it away.

#PrayForFrance; Five Dead After Train Derails Into Canal In Strasbourg

What a horror weekend for France... At least five people were killed and seven injured after a high speed train came off the tracks as it crossed a bridge and plunged into a canal in France, according to local reports. Photographs of the wreckage show its carriages half submerged in the water outside Eckwersheim, Strasbourg. Rescue workers were seen approaching the mangled train on rubber dinghies and tending to the wounded by the side of the canal.

Six killed in Edo bank robbery

No fewer than six persons including a motorcyclist and two bank customers have been reportedly killed in a bank robbery attack at Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
It was learnt that the robbers stormed the town in two Toyota Sienna buses at about 6pm on Tuesday, where some of them reportedly attacked a police station in the area and killed two policemen.

Psychiatric patient hangs self in Ondo


A 52-year-old psychiatric patient, Tope Ogunmodede, has reportedly hanged himself in his house in the Lafe area of Akure, Ondo State.

According to a source, the deceased, a cobbler, took his life on Friday out of frustration following his health challenge, which he and his family had reportedly been battling with for the past 32 years.
