Fan sues Chris Brown for allegedly stealing his hat

Fan sues Chris Brown for allegedly stealing his hat

Chris Brown is being sued by a fan for $2,750 over an unreturned hat, reports TMZ.
According to the lawsuit filed by Marq Stevenson ,he went to CB's Dallas concert last year, and passed his cap to one of Brown's lackeys to get the singer to autograph it.
Stevenson says he did NOT get Brown's John Hancock, and did NOT even get his cap back. In the suit, he says he DID get bullied by Brown's crew.

He now says the hat was stolen, and wants compensation for the $25 lid. But that's not all -- he also wants $225 for his floor seat ticket, plus $2,500 for the bullying. Yes, that's $2,750 ... for a hat.
Stevenson is no longer demanding an autograph
Last year, a fan had been hounding Chris on instagram over a missing hat, claiming it hat belonged to her deceased father. Brown dismissed the claims and accused the user of harassment, ending with "fuck yo punkass hat." Reports at the time identified the user as a woman.
It is not clear if it's the same person.

15yrs old girl gang raped by three men who strangled her to death before hanging her

15yrs old girl gang raped by three men
A 15-year-old girl was gang raped by men who strangled her to death before hanging her body from a tree to make it look like suicide, police in India have revealed.

The teenager slipped out of her home in the Bahraich district of India's Uttar Pradesh while her family was sleeping before going to meet one of the men.
But when she arrived, she realised he had brought along two of his friends who then attacked her, said police Superintendent Salik Ram Verma.
When the girl resisted, they strangled her before hanging her body from a tree just under a mile from her home.Police have arrested two men while a 'third accused is one the run', Verma told AFP.

Verman said:
'When the girl resisted their bid, she was raped and later strangled. To make it look like a case of suicide, they hung her body from a tree and left the spot.'
Four local police constables have also been suspended after an initial lack of action over the incident sparked outrage among villagers.

'I have suspended four constables for laxity and have issued stern instructions to the inspector concerned to book the third accused soon,' Verma said. The medical report has confirmed rape and strangulation,' he added

North West inherits Kim Kardashian's crying face
North West was spotted in tears as caring mum Kim Kardashian tried to calm her own.
The toddler looked upset and exhausted with her parents as they left Nobu in Malibu  after lunch with John Legend and Chrissy Teigen on Monday afternoon.
Notable was the fact that North's crying face looked like mum Kim - whose own 'crying face' has become something of an internet meme over the years .

Jonathan Shocked Me In 2015 - Buhari

Jonathan Shocked Me In 2015
President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday told State House correspondents in Abuja that he was shocked when the former President, Goodluck Jonathan, called him before the 2015 Presidential election was concluded to concede defeat.

At a launch with the reporters, president Buhari said
“When he made that famous call at 4:45 pm and said ‘Good evening Mr. President, I have called to congratulate you and I concede defeat’, I was silent for quite a while because I was surprised and he said ‘did you hear me?’,“For someone who was a Deputy Governor, a Governor, a Vice President and a President for six years to concede that easily showed his great sense of patriotism”.For him to still go ahead and concede was definitely not an easy decision.””President Buhari said.

Miss World hopeful stripped of beauty queen title for 'crime' of having a daughter

Miss World hopeful stripped of beauty queen title
A Miss World hopeful has been stripped of her beauty queen title after rivals exposed her 'crime' - of being a mum to a two-year-old girl.
Tamara Fernandez insist organisers knew all along she was a mother and had said it was okay.
The 24-year-old has never made a secret of the fact she's a mum and has regularly posted pictures of her tot on Facebook , she says.

Yet the Argentinian's hopes of repeating her success nationally - and going on to compete internationally in Miss World - after winning in her native city were dealt a knockout blow.

According to Daily Mirror, organisers took her picture down from an official Facebook competition page before telling her the bad news - the day after she won the competition.

Tamara, of Neuquen - 600 miles south west of Buenos Aires - responded by going online to complain.
She said the contest organisers were the ones who had insisted on entering her - even after she spoke to them about her daughter.
She said: “They invited me to take part on Facebook and I said ‘no’ but they insisted and said the contract didn’t say anything about being a mother.
“I’ve always been with my daughter, I’ve never hid her and that’s what makes me so upset."amara, declared Miss Mundo Neuquen after a glamorous event at a city casino, added in an interview with a local paper: “I was studying for two weeks in the run-up to the final and practicising till 11 at night.
“The day I won I was shaking with the emotion of it all.
“When I had my child several people in the modelling industry said it was a mistake but she was born out of love.
"It’s not fair that they don’t let us follow our dreams simply because we’re mothers.”
Last night she won support from fellow models.
Melina Wesner said: “This beautiful woman deserved this win and much more.
“She has worked so hard to become the incredible model she is today.”
Pointing the finger at rivals who she believes complained to the competition organisers, she added
: “Knowing there are people out there who don’t know how to value the work and efforts of others makes me very sad.
“These people should feel happy and proud because we’re all companions and in this world we have to support each other.”
Today it appeared organisers were backtracking following the furore.
Tamara said she had been offered her crown back but was still considering whether to accept because she feared they might still stop her competing at the national event.
The mum, who is engaged, said:
“I’m waiting for the organisers to sign a document where they’ll confirm having a child is not an impediment.”

7 Clear Blunders Committed By Buhari

The first one year of President Muhammadu Buhari has been of many trials and error. Here are 7 clear blunders committed by Buhari since the inception of his government.
A year ago, Muhammadu Buhari was Nigeria’s Rorschach test, upon whom Nigerians could project their disparate yearnings, following widespread disenchantment with the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.

To govern, however, is to choose, and the choices the leader of this diverse entity called Nigeria makes in a 12-month period, are what has largely revealed his personality.
Like any new leader, especially one dogged by security threats and plummeting economic indices, President Buhari wishes he could have had it less tough.
Mr. Buhari stated earlier this year that he wished he hadn’t been elected president at a time Nigeria was grappling with severe insecurity and low crude oil prices at the international markets.
“But I say why me? Why is it that it is when they have spent all the money, when they made the country insecure that I returned?” Mr. Buhari lamented in a February 5 interview with Al-Jazeera. “Why didn’t I come when the treasury was full? Oil price was over $140 per barrel and when I came, it slipped down to $30. Why me?”
Although Mr. Buhari still frequently blames his predecessor for running the country aground, bequeathing only a “virtually empty” treasury to him, he also committed ample embarrassing gaffes in terms of policy pronouncements and his deliberate indifference to the public mood.
Since Mr. Buhari did not participate in any debate during the campaign–and the number of times he made stump speeches for himself could be counted on fingertips—it is hard to suggest that the president would, in hindsight, wish he had not pit an ardent campaign against his major challenger, Mr. Jonathan.
Juxtaposing the current state of his presidency with the euphoria that greeted his emergence as winner of the historic 2015 elections, here are some low-hanging fruits that require no legislation that Mr. Buhari should have plucked to assert himself clearly as a leader who has both the mor*l and intellectual astuteness to effect the fundamental changes Nigerians have long craved.
Disclosure of Asset
Mr. Buhari is arguably the first-ever Nigerian leader that was elected into office on the perceived strength of his character as a conviction politician that could decisively deal with corruption —Nigeria’s worst bane.
To further convince Nigerians that he was, indeed, a frugal and incorruptible man, Mr. Buhari, in one of his speeches, said he would publicly declare his assets upon assumption of office. He also said he would prevail on his appointees to do the same.
Shortly after his swearing in, Nigerians began demanding copies of Mr. Buhari’s assets declaration documents as submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau. And the president began prevaricating about the matter immediately.
At first, he released a statement claiming to have fulfilled his public assets declaration vow on June 6, 2015. That turned out to be misleading. Mr. Buhari only submitted his assets declaration form to the CCB as every government official is mandated to do.
Under intense public pressure, the president released a statement enumerating his assets and those of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. The statement was at best imprecise, with no clear details of listed assets. It failed to provide addresses of landed of properties, vehicle models, assets of spouse and children as required by law, and more. The presidency assured those details would be available to every Nigerian once they were verified by the Code of Conduct Bureau.
The bureau has since done so, but Mr. Buhari still refuses to come entirely clean on how much he is worth, even though the Ahmed Joda transition committee advised that immediate public declaration of assets would be a “quick win” for Messrs. Buhari and Osinbajo.
Questioned during a presidential media chat in 2015, a visibly itchy president questioned why he was singled out, from amongst the governors and other political leaders.
Till date, a day away from the government’s first birthday, the president has failed to disclose his assets by sending the photocopies of what he submitted to CCB to the media, as former President Umaru Yar’Adua did.
Reap as you vote
The ethnic and tribal sentiments that have for long been a feature of Nigeria’s elections were palpable in the outcome of the 2015 general elections. The results showed that while the people of the north embraced Mr. Buhari in large numbers, those in the south-south and south-east overwhelmingly voted to keep “their own” in office.
Notwithstanding, a plurality of Nigerians had expected that the president would govern fairly and inclusively in order to heal whatever wound the election may have left behind.
Alas, there’s little evidence to show that Mr. Buhari did this. Instead, he began by appointing mainly northerners to the consternation of even those who were amongst his staunchest allies. Mr. Buhari appointed dozens of aides in the first weeks of his administration without ceding any of the positions to the southeast.
Asked how he intended to implement an inclusive development of the south-south, Mr. Buhari delved into the results of the elections, speaking of how the limited support he received from the area would certainly reflect in his government’s policies and programmes to them.
When pressed on the consistent complaints of marginalisation by the South-East,, a visibly irritated president asked in his maiden media chat on December 30, 2015: “What do the Igbos want?”
Public mood and local media
Upon assumption of office, President Buhari was met with incessant and devastating attacks by suspected Boko Haram members. It took intense public criticisms for him to issue a single statement condemning the attacks. He was quiet most times. He showed similar reluctance with the herdsmen crisis across the country. The killings in Agatu and other southern communities were not condemned by the president for weeks. Most went without a single statement of condolence from his office.
But the president was swift in condemning terrorist attacks in Paris, Brussels, Grand-Bassam and elsewhere.
Similarly, Mr. Buhari hardly speaks to local media. From when he would name his ministers (in U.S.) to how he won’t let the central bank devalue (in Paris) the president has made most of the key pronouncements abroad. Talking to local media would have helped him better understand and gauge public opinion.
Presidential Air Fleet
From a Boeing 737 to choppers, those who should know said there are about 11 aircraft in the presidential air fleet. His campaign assured Nigerians that some of those aircraft would be disposed of if the president won the elections. Not one has gone yet. Why Mr. Buhari has not sold any of them or even addressed Nigerians on why he couldn’t sell remained unclear.
Appointment of ministers
Mr. Buhari failed to appoint his ministers early. From the moment he took over on May 29, 2015, till October ending when he finally released names of his prospective ministers, Mr. Buhari claimed he was taking his time to appoint the best.
In hindsight, very few people believe the president’s appointment was worth the time he spent shopping for them. Some analysts have blamed the late appointments partly for the declining state of the economy.
Given the prolonged fall in oil prices even before the elections, they argue, appointing a top economic team early enough could have helped stabilise the system and assure investors. The president missed that opportunity.
With budget, it’s business as usual in Abuja.
Given that one of Mr. Buhari’s rallying cries during the campaign was a promise to eliminate waste within his administration and streamline state agencies and parastatals, history has recorded that Mr. Buhari’s first budget was marred by irregularities–embarrassing and administrative irregularities. It failed to send the much-needed signal to unscrupulous civil servants that a new sheriff was indeed in town. It was a disaster.
Being Nigeria’s most effective salesman.
Of the 30 foreign trips Mr. Buhari made in his first year, hardly did he return from any without dropping a “bombshell”. While some were inadvertent gaffes, too many others were as deliberate as they were damaging.
Nigeria’s president has travelled to distant lands to castigate his people as “criminals”, “corrupt” and “unruly” and even urged foreign investors to be wary.
Although a plurality of Nigerian foreign policy analysts have condemned the president for his outbursts, some of his supporters say he was being honest. That could seem an afterthought. If the president does not want to sell Nigeria–which is actually part of his job– he should, at least, not de-market it.

Nigerian Lady Who Was Trafficked & Aborted 320 Pregnancies Is Finally Dead

Abigail, one of the victims of a Libya based human trafficking ring operating in Nigeria, has died, days after she was rescued from a prostitution cartel in Libya.
It was reported that 26yrs old Abigail, a Nigerian lady from the South-South, was among more than 500 girls trafficked to Libya for prostitution by a Nigerian syndicate
allegedly led by a couple, Alhaji Muritala Sanni and his wife Alhaja Lateefat Sanni, who are now on the run.
According to Mirror, Tunde Oshokoya, a human rights activist and private investigator who worked with the Alliance of Rights Defenders (ARD), a non-profit organisation based in Lagos involved in rescuing three of the trafficked girls revealed Abigail’s death.
He said “It is with heavy heart that we announce Abigail’s passing. She died after a brief illness she came down with while she was in Libya. Since we rescued her, we took her for treatment but she gave up the ghost. “It is sad that ARD, an NGO took up the responsibility to rescue and rehabilitate trafficked victims without any assistance from government”. Barrister Ojay Akinwale, the Chief Executive Officer of ARD expressed sadness over the death and urged government to take human trafficking seriously.
Mirror had reported that Abigail was among three trafficked victims rescued from prostitution in Libya by ARD. She had claimed in the interview that she was trafficked to Libya in 2013, after she was lured there to work as an Auxiliary nurse.
She also claimed that she was forced to abort about 320 pregnancies for girls working for the prostitution ring in Libya. Abigail who was very ill during the interview had expressed fear that she would die if she exposed the Libya human trafficking syndicate.
She added that soon after her rescue, she received a threat from the syndicate in Libya that she will die if she exposed them. In spite of the threat, Abigail went ahead and narrated her ordeal in the hands of the traffickers.”

10 Things You Will Understand if You Have Ever Tried Using ATM in Nigeria

Being in Nigeria is hard enough; but when you are a Nigerian who resides in the country, you would understand that living in the country could also be frustrating.
While people complain of not having enough money to spend, they also worry about the stress they have to go through when they want to withdraw money from the automated teller machine popularly known as ATM, they go through a different struggle entirely.

If you have ever tried using ATM in Nigeria, then you would understand that it is a fifty-fifty chance; you can never be sure of what would happen when you get there or if you would be able to make a successful transaction.

Find below some of the things that could happen to you when you try to withdraw money from the ATM in Nigeria:

1. The queue

atm
This is the first thing that could turn you off when you try using an ATM in Nigeria. The queues are usually long and depressing. It would be difficult getting to do anything on days like that as you could end up getting stuck there.

2. When you suddenly see 10 people in front of you

day-41-3-2-11-a-typical-atm-queue
While you must have made up your mind to join the queue on days you have no choice, you would be shocked to see people who were not on the queue joining the line. These people claim to have been there before and only went to do something. At this your hope of being the next person to withdraw would be dashed again.

3. When the machine goes out of service

vllkyt8bqcri9ek24.6f300474
After you must have waited for long on the queue, the machine could decide to misbehave just then and go out of service. It is usually more painful when you have one or two people in front of you when this happens. If the service is not restores immediately, that means you have to go to some other bank where the struggle would begin again.

4. When the person in front of you has five ATM cards

vllkyt4pbevvl8l4a.c7d8b7e9
This is another form of frustration; imagine being on the queue for hours only to have the person in front of you bringing out five cards.
This means you have to wait for as long as possible before you finally have the chance to use the machine. The annoying part is most of these people are slow and would take eternity trying to figure out how to use the machine.

5. When there is a novice in front of you

vllkyt55m4mtqa8a8.a8752593
Indeed, there are many annoying people in Nigeria. These people could have been on that queue for as long as you have been there yourself without mentioning their inability to use the machine.
When it is their turn to withdraw, they would spend more time trying to figure out how the machine works and would press all the buttons on it before they finally ask for help.

6. When the person before you keep withdrawing

vllkyt86s9oddjpq8.a61d4728
Now this could make you cry especially if you want to withdraw a small amount of money from the ATM. You would be in constant fear as you do not want the machine to go out of service when it is your turn. People like these are usually annoying as they would keep withdrawing like they want to collect the whole money in the machine.

7. When it is finally your turn and it says temporarily unable to dispense

vllkyt6v1tu6agaba.cda84a4d
At this point you would feel like breaking the machine itself but would hold yourself back because you would be arrested eventually. After wasting your time on the queue and having seen all sorts of people withdraw, the machine could go blank on you and say temporarily unable to dispense cash.
But Nigerians are patient and would want to hold on for a little time. Luckily this pays off sometimes as the bank officials may be around to load the ATM again.

8. Your finally withdraw

vllkyt243rm4p9q3m.17761fa5-1
Imagine the joy and relief that comes from being able to withdraw money finally. You feel satisfied and do not really care about the time you have spent trying to withdraw since you have been vindicated.

9. When your card refuses to come out

vllkyt766b8krfldl.f838ee96
Your joy could turn sour after withdrawing and the machine refuses to give up your card. The struggle starts all over as you are stuck trying to figure out whether it would come out or not.
You also have to worry about impatient people who are eager to use the machine and leave. These people would start to curse and swear; they really do not care whether the machine just swallowed your card.

10. When you get debited twice

vllkyt7p0ktv5k4gc.8104d962
As if the devil wants to add salt to your injury, the network could act up and make them debit you twice. Normally, the debited amount should be reversed in few minutes but then you never can be sure as this is Nigeria. Anything can happen. You have to lodge the complaint as soon as possible if you ever want to get your money back.

Bricklayer kills friend for refusing to charge phone(Photo)

Bricklayer kills friend

A bricklayer, Demola Wasiu, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his friend, Lekan Omotosho, 27.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Wasiu, an indigene of Ede, Osun State, stabbed the Ogun State indigene in the armpit after he refused to charge his phone for him.
The victim was said to have lost a lot of blood before he was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital, where he died on Friday.
It was gathered that Omotosho was an apprentice in a mechanic workshop on Ajele Street, Lagos Island.

He was said to have come to Lagos from Mowe, Ogun State, three months ago.
His boss, Olayinka Oyinloye, said he had warned him against his friendship with Wasiu after he was arrested for a crime he knew nothing about.
He said, “Just two months ago, the police arrested him while watching over Wasiu’s phone. The problem is that they usually smoke hemp in that place where they charge phones. Throughout the time of his detention, this so called friend did not check on him.
“After I got him out on bail, I warned him against the friendship and cautioned him not to allow anybody put him in trouble.
“On Thursday, Wasiu came again and asked him to help him charge his phone and watch over it. Lekan (Omotosho) refused. That was how he became angry and started fighting him.”
Our correspondent was told that the suspect, who had a bottle of beer in his hand, smashed it on the floor and stabbed Omotosho in the armpit.
Oyinloye said, “He fell down and started bleeding. People took him to a hospital, while they held Wasiu to prevent him from escaping.
“They took Wasiu to the Lion Building Police Division around 11.30pm. I went to check on Lekan (Omotosho) in the hospital. Around 1am, he died. I went back to the station to report the development to the police. Some of the officers followed me to the hospital to confirm if he was actually dead.”
At the SDCI, the suspect begged for forgiveness, saying he never intended to kill Omotosho.
He said, “All I want is forgiveness. I did not mean to kill him. He was my friend and I have no reason to kill him. Please help me beg them to give me another chance. I have no father or mother to assist me.”
It was learnt that the victim’s parents had arrived from Ogun State to recover the corpse from the police after autopsy.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Damasus Ozoani, confirmed the incident, adding that investigations were ongoing.
He said, “Yes, it happened. The suspect, Demola Wasiu, stabbed the victim, Lekan Omotosho, with a broken bottle. He was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead. The matter is under investigation.”

Heartbreaking story of Nigerian woman whose kidney was illegally harvested in Italy (photo)

Ms Julie Osamese felt a little feverish when she walked into the Ospedale Maria Vittoria Cibrario Hospital in Turin, Italy sometime in November 2008. Her only complaint was a slight increase in body temperature, and that she explained to the doctor who attended to her. Tests were conducted, following which she was given medication to use and instructed to return for evaluation after a week.

But her second visit to the hospital could be described as the greatest mistake of her life. For this Nigerian lady, it marked the beginning of years of woe. It was the beginning of years of trauma during which she was moved to six other hospitals. She eventually ended up in a mental home, despite being mentally stable.

Some of the hospitals Osamese was taken to include Amedeo Di Savoia Svizzerra and Ospedale San Giovanni Bossco.

According to the chairperson of the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Rita Orji, who recently led other members of the committee to investigate Osamese’s disheartening story, the woman, in her 30s and a legal immigrant in Italy, was, on her follow-up visit to the Ospedale Maria Vittoria Cibrario hospital, given drugs which made her dizzy. It was gathered that as she complained to the medical personnel who attended to her, she was tied to the bed despite her protests. By the time she woke up, part of her buttocks had allegedly been chopped off, and her kidney tampered with. That was how she lost control of her bladder, leading to uncontrollable urination, it was gathered.

Narrating the inhuman treatment meted out to Osamese, the lawmaker said:

“After taking the drugs for one week, she came back to report how she was feeling. On that day, she was asked if she came to the hospital alone, and she said, ‘yes’ innocently without knowing the reason why that question was put across to her. That marked, the beginning of her paralysis. She was asked to lie down that they were going to give her some medication. Within two, three minutes, she was approached with a mixture in a cup and she drank it, believing that it was for the fever she complained of. But she became dizzy and she was telling them how she felt. But they said there was no problem.

“Suddenly, the team of doctors came around and tied her legs and her hands on the bed and she started shouting, ‘why are you tying me’? She said one of the doctors responded that she could shout at the top of her voice, but that nobody would know what was being done. That was how they faced her down and gave her injection on her base bone. After the injection, she passed out. When she finally regained consciousness, she saw that the lower part of the buttocks on both sides had been chopped off, to the extent that the bones in her buttocks had cracked and she saw the pieces of the bones. Also her bladder was disengaged from the source with urine pouring out uncontrollably. In fact, she woke up on a catheter and a big plaster by the region of her kidney.
“They started moving Madam Julie from one hospital to the other. It is the norm that when you are being transferred to any hospital, the ambulance in which a patient is transferred goes with a medical report. But in Julie’s case, nothing like that was done. They dumped her into one ambulance to drop her in one home or the other without attaching her medical history. They kept her, thinking she would die. At a stage, she was only living on prayers. They finally dropped her at the seventh medical Centre. During our investigations, I asked what the reasons for moving her from one place to the other were. There is no answer to that. What they were telling us is that she is mentally Ill. She is diabetic. But I want to tell you that all these stories are unfounded. No one has the confirmation of these health conditions they told us she suffers from based on medical ground.

“On our arrival at that place, we conducted a test and found that Julie is not diabetic. The scan that was carried out on her, and we have the result, shows that her kidney was tampered with. This is what the woman has been shouting about for the past eight years, and nobody seems to believe her. Today it is Julie, tomorrow I don’t know who it will be. On their final stop, they dumped her in a mental home, a woman of thirty something years, dumped in a mental home that harbours old men and women that are demented.”

Also corroborating Orji’s story, another member of the committee who represents Itu/Ibiono Ibom federal constituency, Henry Okon -Archibong, a medical doctor, explained that Osamese can never walk again, no thanks to the havoc inflicted on her.

“From what happened, they might have tried to give her anaesthesia before they harvested the kidney. In doing that, they damaged the lumber and sacred nerves. So, there is no way Julie can walk again. Julie has been paralysed and the issue of walking has nothing to do with what we are calling for. She has to be compensated, the medical doctors that participated in what led to her current situation have to be dealt with as the law permits,” he said.

Indeed, the committee is demanding that the Italian government investigate Osamese’s case with a view to fishing out the medical personnel whose highly unprofessional conduct led to the loss of one of her kidneys and her permanent confinement to a wheelchair. The lawmakers are also asking for the highest form of compensation and a complete rehabilitation of the mother of one, who they said have been the subject of several protests by the Nigerian community in Italy.

Orji declared:

“The action that will satisfy us as lawmakers starts from the whole world condemning the injustice meted out to an innocent person. We are saying that there should be a holistic compensation and a new medical team should conduct an analysis of Madam Julie’s situation and proffer the best way to get her life back on track. She has lost hope on the medical doctors around her. So, I will advise that they have to look for another medical team that are not from Turin to carry out this job.”

The lawmakers also called on the minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama to investigate the role of the staff of the Nigerian High Commission in Italy, whom they accused of negligence.

“You can’t believe that when the relations of this lady were at the hospital, a woman named Deborah and another man called Ifeanyi, the woman told them what she had been put through. She gave them documents to back her claims and told these relatives of hers to run to the Nigerian High Commission in Rome, to inform them of what happened. Those documents were given to one Madam Martina and Mr. Folorunsho who are staff of the commission. But no one asked after her (Osamese) since 2009. They never went to visit her. They didn’t even keep the documents handed over to them. When we demanded for them, they denied ever receiving the documents. For us, the recklessness of the Nigeria High Commission in Italy as at then, caused the terrible situation we see. Assuming they intervened on time, the situation of this woman will not be this bad,” Orji added.

Saudi Arabia authorities execute Nigerian, Fahd Houssawi for killing a police officer

Saudi Arabia authorities execute Nigerian, Fahd Houssawi for killing a police officer
Saudi authorities put to death a Nigerian on Sunday after convicting him of murdering a policeman, the latest in a surge of executions that has drawn concern from human rights groups.

It was 95th execution of the year in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom, which imposes the death penalty for offences including murder, drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape and apostasy. Fahd Houssawi was put to death in the western city of Taif, the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.

He had been found guilty of strangling the policeman and beating his head against the ground until he died, the ministry said. Amnesty International has warned that at the current rate Saudi Arabia could see more than 100 executions in the first half of 2016 alone.

Amnesty International says that the kingdom carried out at least 158 death sentences last year, making it the third most prolific executioner after Iran and Pakistan. Its figures do not include secretive China. The executions this year are “higher than at the same point last year,” Amnesty said.

Murder and drug trafficking cases account for the majority of Saudi executions, although 47 people were put to death for “terrorism” offences on a single day in January.
