MUST READ - FORWARD NIGERIA, SAY NO TO VIOLENCE

Nigeria is our land, our pride, our home.  Though our tongues and tribes may differ, we are one people.  Our founding fathers fought for our freedom and emerged victorious.  Our heros battled with enthusiasm just for our freedom from colonial rule, there names and heroic deeds can never vanish from our memories.

Though we passed through the trial of a three year civil war that tried to break our unitary bond, we conquered, and united we stand.  God kept us together for the reason best known to him.  Unity and disunity are two contradictory words which determine the state of advancement or level of success of a country.  I define Unity as a pathway to progress, a state of being harmonious, while the latter is a reproach as regarding to national development. We've gone a long way and cannot retard.  We can't return to our starting point, rather, we should strive to move on.  Let's say no to going back.
The world have predicted the dissociation of this great country due to the forth coming 28th March 2015 presidential election.  Rumors have gone viral all over the world, stating that there is a high probability of this nation to split up.  Are we going to fold our arms and watch while the efforts of our fathers waste?  Are you going to be a vector of violence just because of a politician who don't care about you?  They don't even know whether you exist until election period when they will use you as a thug, while their children are studying abroad, and their families/relatives are doing well.  Are you going to kill or be killed because of a politician?  You may call it protection of vote, love of your country or what ever, but the fact is, all those claims are absolute insanity.
The world have predicted the dissociation of this country, and the ball is on our court.  We can't afford another civil war.  Let us do what is right,  cast your vote and walk away from the polling booth, wait for the result and take it as you see it.  You may not like the outcome of the election, but one thing should always ring on your mind, ''peace''.  If you perform any heinous act, you will bear the burden alone.  The party that sent you will deny you instantly, leaving you alone to face the wrath of the law.  If you get involved in a political clash and die, remember that the politician you are fighting for is still alive and will still entroll in the next election.  Be wise, don't waste your life in the name of politics.  If thuggery is right, why don't they call their families to join the act?
Fellow Nigerians, let us do the needful, say no to violence and embrace peace.  Let us make this election a peace one, let's make the world know that we are one, and nothing can break us, we are impregnable.  No politician has the capacity of splitting us, only if you play your role.  If we can overcome this trial that is awaiting us, then we shall be stepping to the next level.  Trials are just to test turgidity and if you sail through, you will enjoy the splendid taste of progress.  Note that the politicians will live to contest again, save your life that you may vote again.  Yes we can do it.
A word is enough for the wise.
